How To Reach Your Potential In 2016

10 easy tips to help you make the most of this year

The New Year is the time we all make resolutions but sometimes these can be rather far-fetched and unrealistic. The key to happiness lies in a collection of small actions rather than one big change that can feel very daunting. As we all know, small actions and gestures can go a long way, both with yourself and those that surround you. Make 2016 your best, happiest, most successful year so far by following our handy guide to help you reach your potential.

1. Drink more water

We're starting super easy with this one. The recommended amount of water to drink is two litres daily, which is the equivalent of around 8 glasses. If you don't like the taste of water it's okay to add a small amount of non-sugar juice, or for extra points get a fruit infused water bottle! They make staying hydrated so delicious you won't be able to put it down!

2. Eat more fruit and vegetables

Fruit and veggies are full of good and natural nutrients that will make your body very happy, as well as your brain. Eating healthier can actually have a knock on effect with your mental health and added to the water you're drinking, you'll have glowing skin too!

3. Get the sleep your body deserves

Many of us have way below the correct amount of sleep we should be getting. This of course will make you feel tired, but it can also age your skin and increase stress and anxiety levels because your body isn't getting the time to repair itself. Aim for at least 7 hours sleep per night and you will feel much more alive with increased energy and productivity levels ready to reach your potential.

4. Fit in some exercise

We all make excuses for not going to the gym, with the main one being we simply do not have enough time in our busy schedules. Find an activity you enjoy and exercising will go from feeling like a chore to being fun! Try to do it at least 3 times per week and not only will your body benefit but stress levels will also decrease.

6. Set a date night

We can all get caught up in life and not give our partners the love and attention that they deserve. Bring the romance by putting a night aside per week to spend just the two of you. You don't even have to leave your home, a nice movie and popcorn will do the trick!
