Flowers Delivered In Hursley
Hursley in Hampshire may have fewer than a thousand residents, but it has had its fair share of notable inhabitants - including Richard Cromwell, son of Oliver Cromwell, from 1643. On his father's death in 1658, Richard was named Lord Protector of England, which arguably means Hursley was home to the nation's ruler for a brief period. The modern-day flower delivery Hursley residents receive can reflect this high status, with Heritage bouquets and Couture arrangements to dress any room fit for a king - or for a lord protector.
Continuing the regal trend, the Monarch's Way long-distance footpath crosses Hursley as it retraces the route taken in 1651 by King Charles II from Worcester to Brighton, a 615-mile escape after his defeat in battle. The route itself is largely symbolic, as it would now be impossible to follow directly in the monarch's footsteps due to changes in land use. It took six weeks for Charles to make his escape; the flower delivery Hursley residents order should instead arrive as quickly as the next day in most cases.
