Which flowers and plants are safe for pets?
Certain flowers and plants can be dangerous to have around pets, particularly cats and dogs. Ingesting toxic flowers and houseplants can cause serious health problems for your furry friend, including kidney failure, depression, vomiting and more.
Non-toxic plants and flowers for both cats and dogs include sunflowers, orchids, roses, and snapdragons. With this in mind, we've put together this selection of safe plants and non-toxic flowers to send to friends and family with pets.

Which flowers are poisonous to cats?
The most well-known flower toxic to cats is the lily. Lilies are very dangerous to cats, and all parts of the flower - including the leaves, pollen, petals, and even the vase water - can be deadly if eaten. Even touching lilies can be dangerous for cats, as they may later ingest the pollen when grooming themselves.
We would strongly recommend against buying lilies if you own a cat, or sending lilies to a cat owner. This includes varieties such as the Easter Lily, Tiger Lily, Rubrum Lily, Calla Lily, Oriental Lily, and Stargazer Lily. If you think your cat has eaten any part of a lily, seek veterinary help immediately.
