It all began in 1969 ...Tony Laithwaites spent his summers working in the Bordeaux vineyards – lugging the local wine home on the train for a few family friends. Then in 1969 I bought a Ford van in order to bring real wines - wines of authenticity and character and directly to customers in the UK.

Unlike other wine merchants, Laithwaites buyers are constantly on the move, finding you wines of real quality and character. Laithwaites believe in meeting producers face to face, to do deals on the strength of a handshake.

By cultivating existing relationships with producers, Laithwaites can bring you their finest wines. And by seeking out new producers with a genuine passion for wine, they continue to bring you exciting new discoveries. Just like Tony did over 40 years ago.
