Mother Nature is a beautiful thing, arguably, the most beautiful thing in the world.
Flowers offer natural beauty, artwork and gorgeous smells. Apart from being incredibly ‘good-looking,’ flowers offer much more than some people think. What a lot of people don’t know, flowers are an important necessity to our lives. Without flowers, the earth would be a very different place.
Why?
Flowers keep us alive as they are essential for removing Carbon Dioxide and toxins in the air, allowing us to breathe. Flowers also feed the honey bee population who pollinate 80% of our food crops (which is one-third of everything we eat!)
As well as giving us oxygen and food, flowers can actually make us feel better as they are used as medicines:
Carnation – Carnations can be brewed to make a fantastic, delicious tea which reduces anxiety, stress, tension and fatigue.
Dandelion – Dandelions can effectively clean the blood and also help with conditions such as anaemia.
Sunflower – Sunflowers can be brewed to help relieve ulcers, sore throats and menstrual cramps.
Roses – Roses are a brilliant source of Vitamin C, they can be eaten raw to increase blood circulation and relieve depression. They also act as a mild laxative and can improve the condition of the skin.
Lilac – Lilacs are effectively used to reduce fever, to get rid of internal parasites and also skin burns/wounds are healed when a paste/gel is made.
Without flowers, our planet would be very unnatural to us; it would be a hotter, drier and foodless place, being biologically deprived.
So, next time you receive, pass, look or touch some flowers, give them the respect they deserve, because after all, they do keep us alive.
