* Trick or Treat? This Halloween tradition began in the ancient Celtic era when they would put food and treats outside to placate spirits that roamed the streets in Samhain.

* The colours black and orange are associated with Halloween as they represent darkness and death and the fall of the harvest respectively.

* Pumpkins are typically orange. However, they also come in white, blue and green.
